1/2 cup shredded sweetened coconut
1/2 cup chopped pecans
1 box (15.25 ounces) German chocolate cake mix, plus ingredients listed on the box
8 ounces cream cheese, softened
1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
4 cups powdered sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
Sprinkle shredded sweetened coconut and chopped pecans evenly across the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
Prepare the German chocolate cake mix according to the package instructions. Pour the cake batter over the coconut and pecans in the baking dish.
In a medium bowl, beat together softened cream cheese, melted unsalted butter, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth and well combined.
