Ingredients

Scale

For the chicken burgers:

    • 1 lb ground chicken
    • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
    • 1/4 cup crumbled feta cheese
    • 1/4 cup finely chopped red onion
    • 2 cloves garlic, minced
    • 1 tbsp dried oregano
    • 1 tsp ground cumin
    • Salt and pepper to taste

For the tzatziki slaw:

    • 1 cup Greek yogurt
    • 1/2 cucumber, grated and water squeezed out
    • 1 clove garlic, minced
    • 1 tbsp fresh dill, chopped
    • Juice of 1/2 lemon
    • Salt and pepper to taste

For serving:

  • Burger buns
  • Sliced tomatoes
  • Sliced red onion
  • Fresh lettuce leaves

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, breadcrumbs, feta, red onion, garlic, oregano, cumin, salt, and pepper. Mix well.
  2. Form the mixture into 4 equal patties.
  3. Heat a grill pan or skillet over medium-high heat. Lightly oil the surface and cook patties for 5–6 minutes per side, until fully cooked.
  4. Meanwhile, prepare the tzatziki slaw by mixing Greek yogurt, grated cucumber, garlic, dill, lemon juice, salt, and pepper in a bowl.
  5. To assemble, spread tzatziki slaw on the bottom half of each bun. Add a chicken patty, then top with tomato slices, red onion, and lettuce. Cap with the top bun.
  6. Serve immediately for best flavor and texture.

Notes

  • Yes, you can grill the burgers on an outdoor grill. Just oil the grates and cook for about 5–6 minutes per side over medium-high heat.
  • Use whole wheat or pita buns for a healthier or more authentic touch.
  • Make the tzatziki slaw a few hours in advance for deeper flavor.
  • Leftover patties can be stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
