Ingredients
8 oz cream cheese, softened
1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
4 jalapeños, seeded and finely chopped
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1/2 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp paprika
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1 cup all-purpose flour
2 large eggs, beaten
2 cups seasoned breadcrumbs
Oil for frying
Instructions
In a large bowl, combine the cream cheese, Monterey Jack cheese, cheddar cheese, jalapeños, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, cayenne pepper, salt, and black pepper until well mixed.
Roll the mixture into 1-inch balls and place them on a baking sheet. Freeze for 30 minutes to firm up.
Set up a breading station with three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs.
Dip each cheese ball into the flour, then the egg, and finally coat with breadcrumbs.
Heat oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C). Fry the bites in batches until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes. Drain on paper towels.
Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
