Churro Crack is a sweet and crunchy snack mix that’s impossible to resist! It combines crispy rice cereal, pretzels, and almonds with a buttery cinnamon-sugar coating, then gets tossed in powdered sugar for that perfect churro flavor. Great for parties, gifting, or snacking anytime!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups rice cereal squares
  • 2 cups pretzel sticks
  • 1 cup sliced almonds
  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons corn syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup powdered sugar, for coating

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine rice cereal squares, pretzel sticks, and sliced almonds. Set aside.
  3. In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter, brown sugar, and corn syrup, stirring constantly until the mixture is smooth and begins to bubble.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt.
  5. Pour the hot butter mixture over the cereal mixture. Stir gently until everything is evenly coated.
  6. Spread the coated mixture onto the prepared baking sheet in an even layer.
  7. Bake for 12–15 minutes, stirring halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
  8. Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes.
  9. Transfer the slightly cooled mixture to a large bowl and toss with powdered sugar until well coated.
  10. Spread out onto wax paper or a clean baking sheet to cool completely.
  11. Once fully cooled, break into bite-sized pieces and store in an airtight container.

Notes

  • Feel free to mix in other nuts like pecans or cashews for variety.
  • Try adding mini chocolate chips or dried cranberries after the mix has cooled.
  • To make it even crunchier, let it bake a few extra minutes, but watch closely to avoid burning.
  • This recipe makes a great homemade gift when packaged in decorative bags or jars.
