- 4 cups rice cereal squares
- 2 cups pretzel sticks
- 1 cup sliced almonds
- 1 cup unsalted butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons corn syrup
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup powdered sugar, for coating
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine rice cereal squares, pretzel sticks, and sliced almonds. Set aside.
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter, brown sugar, and corn syrup, stirring constantly until the mixture is smooth and begins to bubble.
- Remove from heat and stir in the vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and salt.
- Pour the hot butter mixture over the cereal mixture. Stir gently until everything is evenly coated.
- Spread the coated mixture onto the prepared baking sheet in an even layer.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes, stirring halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
- Remove from the oven and let cool for 5 minutes.
- Transfer the slightly cooled mixture to a large bowl and toss with powdered sugar until well coated.
- Spread out onto wax paper or a clean baking sheet to cool completely.
- Once fully cooled, break into bite-sized pieces and store in an airtight container.
Notes
- Feel free to mix in other nuts like pecans or cashews for variety.
- Try adding mini chocolate chips or dried cranberries after the mix has cooled.
- To make it even crunchier, let it bake a few extra minutes, but watch closely to avoid burning.
