- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup milk
- 2 large eggs

For the cinnamon swirl:
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons ground cinnamon
For the glaze:
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2–3 tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a large bowl, whisk together granulated sugar, milk, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Gradually add dry ingredients to wet ingredients, mixing until just combined. Stir in the melted butter.
- In a separate small bowl, mix together softened butter, brown sugar, and ground cinnamon until creamy.
- Spread half of the cake batter into the prepared dish. Drop spoonfuls of half the cinnamon swirl mixture over the batter and swirl gently with a knife.
- Spread remaining cake batter on top, then add remaining cinnamon swirl mixture in spoonfuls. Swirl again with a knife.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- While baking, prepare the glaze: whisk together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Drizzle glaze over the warm cake once it has cooled slightly. Serve warm or at room temperature.
Notes
- For extra richness, add a handful of chopped pecans or walnuts into the cinnamon swirl.
- Store leftovers covered at room temperature for up to 2 days, or refrigerate for up to 4 days.
- Reheat slices briefly in the microwave before serving for a warm treat.
