Ingredients
For the dough:
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 ounce instant yeast (1 packet)
1/2 cup milk, warmed
1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
1 large egg
For the filling:
1/4 cup unsalted butter, softened
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
2 ripe bananas, mashed
For the glaze:
1 cup powdered sugar
1–2 tablespoons milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, and instant yeast. Mix well.
Add warm milk, melted butter, and egg to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.
Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a baking dish or line with parchment paper.
Punch down the risen dough and roll it out into a rectangle about 12×18 inches.
Spread softened butter evenly over the dough. Sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon over the butter layer, then spread mashed bananas.
Starting from the long edge, tightly roll up the dough into a log. Cut into 12 equal slices.
Place the rolls in the prepared baking dish. Cover with a clean kitchen towel and let rise again for about 30 minutes.
Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until golden brown.
While the rolls are baking, prepare the glaze by whisking together powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Drizzle the glaze over warm cinnamon rolls before serving.
