1/2 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined

2 tablespoons jerk seasoning

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 cup yellow rice

2 cups chicken broth

1 teaspoon turmeric

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1 teaspoon onion powder

Salt and pepper to taste

Fresh cilantro for garnish

Instructions

In a bowl, toss steak strips and shrimp with jerk seasoning. Let marinate for at least 15 minutes.

In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium-high heat. Add the marinated steak strips and cook until browned, about 4-5 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

In the same skillet, cook the shrimp until pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside.

In a medium pot, combine yellow rice, chicken broth, turmeric, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for 20 minutes or until the rice is cooked and the liquid is absorbed.

Fluff the rice with a fork and serve topped with the jerk steak and shrimp. Garnish with fresh cilantro.
