- 1 lb (450g) shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 lb (450g) lump crabmeat, drained
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 cups milk
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a large skillet, melt 1/4 cup butter over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant.
- Stir in flour and cook, whisking constantly, for 2–3 minutes until lightly golden.
- Gradually add milk and chicken broth while whisking. Cook until the sauce thickens and is smooth.
- Remove from heat and stir in Parmesan cheese, mozzarella cheese, and parsley until melted and combined.
- Season the sauce with salt and pepper to taste.
- Fold in the shrimp and crabmeat, ensuring they’re well coated in the sauce.
- Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish and spread evenly.
- In a small bowl, mix breadcrumbs with 2 tablespoons melted butter. Sprinkle evenly over the top of the casserole.
- Bake for 25–30 minutes or until bubbling and golden brown on top.
- Let cool slightly before serving.

- Canned crabmeat is a convenient substitute—just drain well before using.
- Add a pinch of Old Bay seasoning for extra flavor.
- Use panko breadcrumbs for a crispier topping.
