- 1 lb fresh mushrooms (button, cremini, or your favorite), cleaned and sliced
- 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves (or 1 teaspoon dried thyme)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Fresh parsley, chopped, for garnish
Instructions
- Heat butter and olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat until butter melts.
- Add minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add sliced mushrooms, spreading them into a single layer. Cook undisturbed for 3–4 minutes to brown.
- Stir mushrooms and continue to cook for another 4–5 minutes, until tender and golden.
- Season with salt, pepper, and thyme. Stir to combine.
- Remove from heat, transfer to a serving dish, and garnish with fresh parsley.
Notes
- For extra flavor, add a splash of white wine or balsamic vinegar during the last minute of cooking.
- Use a mix of mushroom varieties for a deeper, richer taste.
- Don’t overcrowd the skillet; cook in batches if necessary to get a good sear.
