Whether you’re using fresh, canned, or frozen peaches, this simple recipe comes together quickly and is perfect for any occasion—especially when served warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups fresh or canned peaches, sliced (drain excess liquid if using canned)
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar, divided
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Ground cinnamon (optional, for sprinkling)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×9-inch baking dish.
- In a medium bowl, combine sliced peaches with 1/2 cup granulated sugar. Let sit for 10–15 minutes to draw out juices.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, remaining 1/2 cup sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- Stir in melted butter, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Pour the batter into the greased baking dish and spread evenly.
- Spoon the peaches and their juices evenly over the batter.
- Sprinkle ground cinnamon on top, if desired.
- Bake for 40–45 minutes or until the top is golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before serving.
Notes
- Frozen peaches can be used—just thaw and drain before using.
- Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for an extra treat.
- Substitute brown sugar for a richer caramel-like flavor.
- Adjust sugar to taste if peaches are very sweet or tart.
